A union of softness and geometric linearity, the Porro beds designed by Piero Lissoni are a perfect harmony of materials and proportions. Discover with us the three bedrooms that we have configured choosing exclusive Italian furniture of the highest quality and created by the best designers.
Mix&Match: Porro beds
Since 1925 the Porro family has distinguished itself for an essential language that prefers the simplification of geometries and shapes, without losing sight of the functional design. A company that has created a furnishing philosophy that combines the former tradition of craftsmanship with the most advanced production technologies of today. In the 1980s, the collaboration with Piero Lissoni begins a new phase for the company that will reach all continents and will acquire more and more fame in the new millenium.
A textile bed with an intimate and compact shape, Byron Bed is composed of 3 elements: the high upholstered bed frame slightly raised from the ground, the soft headboard cushions and the screen at the bottom that seems to embrace the space and protect sleep.
Taiko Bed is a bed characterized by a rigorous geometry that combines perfectly with the inviting softness of the headboard. The wooden bed frame continues behind the headboard, which is covered with large cushions with removable feather covers.
Interpreting a new concept of domestic warmth, something between rationality and sensuality, Piero Lissoni designs Makura Bed, characterized by a sinuous and enveloping headboard that is connected to the bed frame through a soft curve.
Materials, shapes and colors are the protagonists of our Porro Beds compositions: three solutions created with the aim of showing you Italian Design in its entirety. Here for you three possible customizations of three different bedrooms. But the variety is infinite and that’s why Esperiri is here to help you create the right Mix&Match according to your taste.
BYRON Porro bed
A clean and refined design that can be elegantly inserted in both a modern or a more traditional bedroom. Byron Bed, designed by Piero Lissoni, maintains the concrete sophistication typical of Porro style, while giving it intimacy and protection, as if to embrace the moment of sleep.
The soft lines and rounded edges characterize the textile part of the bed while the screen shows a rigorous geometry. The sophisticated detail of the frame in solid ash stained black that encloses a straw weave with a graphic houndstooth pattern, reconfirms the balance between contemporary and memory, concrete and abstract. With these features, Byron Bed reaches a total price of 5,450 euros.
With the idea of maintaining the enveloping qualities of the Porro bed, we chose to match it with the Supplì armchairs designed by Luca Nichetto for Arflex. At the same time the geometric rigor is taken up by the Servomuto coffee table designed by the Castiglioni brothers in 1974 for Zanotta and the North floor lamp designed by Arik Levy for Vibia.
Thanks to the shades of air-force blue for the walls, the cc-tapis rug and the armchairs, combined with the beige of the bed and the parquet, we obtain a sophisticated and elegant bedroom. Simple in the shapes but refined in the details, such as the 3D geometric effect on the walls and the dynamism of the North lamp that plays with the environment in perfect harmony.
TAIKO Porro bed
An anomalous project in its asymmetrical characteristics: the Taiko bed, designed by Piero Lissoni, is conceived with a wooden headboard that extends abundantly on one of the two sides, proposing a shelf or tray that acts as a bedside table.
The rigorous geometry of the wooden structure, with its low, continuous and enveloping volume in the warm, honey-blonde tones of heat-treated elm, is thus combined with the natural rope-colored fabric of the cushions, for an intimate atmosphere that invites you to rest. These features bring the Taiko Bed to a total price positioning of 3,850 euros.
The excellence in woodworking of Porro, combined with the design excellence of 900 Pierre Jeanneret with the Kangaroo Armchair produced by Cassina, recalls to perfection the rigorous and refined philosophy of the Taiko bed. On the other hand, to give freshness and pop colors, we selected the Banjooli coffee table for Moroso and the 265 wall lamp produced by Flos.
A room characterized by a terrazzo floor in beige tones, a cc-tapis carpet and olive green walls that contrast with the red pop of the lamps and the Banjooli coffee table. This dualism can be described as a rustic style contaminated by a pop-modern style with an exotic flavor.
MAKURA Porro bed
Piero Lissoni creates a bed of timeless elegance, a new interpretation of domestic warmth, in a relationship between rationality and sensuality. Apparently suspended from the ground, Makura Bed is a welcoming and inviting shape thanks to the sinuous and enveloping headboard and the presence of comfortable removable cushions.
The attention to detail that characterizes Porro products is found in the soft curve that connects the headboard and bed frame. The total price for this bed with sensual shapes reaches 2.505 euro.
To enhance the curves of this bed, we have selected Italian furniture with delicate and dreamy features, such as the Ilary coffee table in Fior di Pesco marble produced by Poltrona Frau and the D.154.2 Armchair designed by master Gio Ponti for Molteni&C and above the bed two precious lamps such as Papillon by Arflex.
In this last room, bright and timeless in style, we find a palette of pastel shades of blue and pink in contrast with the coldness of marble and gray fabric of the double bed. A delicate and youthful refinement, characterized by curved and soft shapes in the furniture but also in the semi-circular wall in wood strip boiserie and in the cc-tapis carpet at the base of the bed.
