Inspiration may sometimes come in the lowliest objects and from the most unexpected times and places. The idea for the Fjord Chair by Moroso was conceptualized this way as designer Patricia Urquiola based the Fjord by Moroso on a piece of seashell which has been broken and smoothened out by the waves. There is a strong Scandinavian influence as well, which is evident with the Fjord Chair's name. The continuous cycle of nature became the unwitting muse for this series of products by Moroso, and this coincidence produced the Moroso line named Fjord.

The Fjord Chair by Moroso offers maximum functionality despite its minimal design. Designer Patricia Urquiola turned an abstract concept into something tangible. The curves of the seat structure conform to the shape of the body, thus allowing its user to feel at ease while seated. The iconic split shape is a play on the designer's initial inspiration of a broken seashell being tossed around and smoothed out by waves. With multiple upholstery finishes as well as base options, the Fjord by Moroso is capable of adapting to any setting you choose to place it in.
